First iceboats of the season hit East Sandusky
Bay. Ice reported to be about 18" thick. Recent thaw has melted down
most
snow, for sailable ice with lumpy areas.
Earlier in the season, Christmas day had showed a promising glassy plate that was soon covered with 8" of snow. click to see this pic at sailsandusky.com click to see Ryan Kyle's refurbed ride left - John Stauffer walks the Green Arrow in during a lull.
